A beautiful town with a bloody history

The Pennsylvania monument on the Gettysburg battlefield.

The monument is actually white but I took this at sunset. The marble is reflecting the sun's light.

The largest monument in the park, its also the most ornately carved and detailed.

The statue at the top was cast from cannons that had been left on the battlefield.

This is on Little Roundtop, looking southeast towards Big Roundtop.

Little Roundtop is covered in monuments and markers.

The view from here is incredible. It's easy to see why it was a military advantage to occupy the hill.
