Bethany's Doll…
Pennsylvania
Harrisburg
Harrisburg
Pennsylvania's state capitol
More of the Senate.
Stained glass windows, like this one in the Senate, line the walls of both the House & Senate chambers. They were created by a student of Louis Tiffany and have his trademark deep blues and purples.
The PA Supreme Court
The stained glass dome over the Court was also created by the same man who did the other windows.
When the sun shines, the dome glows a brilliant emerald green.
The House of Representatives also has the original furnishing, murals and gold leaf.
The light fixtures weigh about 5 tons and are cleaned once a year in the spring.
This chamber is done in a French style, similar to what was used in the original Palace at Versailles.
Though the day was foggy, the fountain in back of the capitol was being prepped for the summer. This area adjoins the botanical gardens and the rest of the capitol complex.
